Twelve dancers/singers perform an entrancing ritual. Let yourself drift among them and experience a durational, immersive artwork of endless variation.

The blend of a cappella singing, whispered melodies, pop choruses, contemporary laments, mystical airs, vocal morphing, and fluid movement stretches time and space, drawing the audience into the performers’ world. Seated on cushions at floor level, the audience feels the choreographic and vocal vibrations radiating intensely from the dancers’ bodies. The physicality of the movement, the animal quality of their slithering, the beauty of living tableaux that emerge and dissolve, and the ecstatic expressions blossoming across their faces conjure a shifting dystopia, powerfully evocative of human passion. Within the elastic temporality of the piece and through the sensorial impact of repeated sung and danced motifs, invisible connections begin to weave their way towards a kind of trance. Each person is free to experience the work in full or in part.

Jefta van Dinther is a choreographer and dancer working between Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Berlin. After spending his childhood in Sweden, he trained at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam, graduating in 2003. His artistic practice explores what it means to be human through our bonds to community, environment, and nature, drawing on other expressive media around dance, particularly the voice. In recent years, he has created Mercury Rising (2025), Ausland (2024), and Remachine (2023).
