The rule of the game is simple: Ivo Dimchev only sings when someone in the audience takes a selfie with him. Shaped by the combined actions of artist and spectators, the show questions the power of being seen. Do we exist outside another’s gaze?
From the tacit critique embedded in this interactive performance emerges an unavoidable truth: we need one another, even for tonight’s performance to happen at all. And what better tool than a selfie to forge a physical connection? This unusual proximity makes it possible to “get to know” those strangers who suddenly feel a little less anonymous.
A one-off, playful evening awaits anyone bold enough to take part in this new kind of concert.

He sports a moustache, the beauty of the devil, and something of Freddie Mercury in his voice. Dimchev is an iconic singer-performer, ageless in his fifties, who pours his exuberance onto international stages. A multi-talented Bulgarian artist, he lives between Los Angeles, New York, Vienna, and Sofia, creating performances, concerts, exhibitions, and books. He is known for his radical, interactive actions, whose baroque flair draws inspiration from burlesque, body art, Viennese Actionism, and a strain of neo-Dadaism.
