Who hasn’t marveled at a flock of birds moving as one, each tracing the same path in perfect harmony? At breathtaking speed, the 15 skaters of Murmuration glide as a single body, unfolding a spectacular chain reaction of motion.

After a four-year hiatus, Le Patin Libre returns in full force with a breathtaking new work. Drawing inspiration from the collective movement of bird flocks, this ice ballet celebrates the powerful synergy uniting its 15 performers. Their astonishing synchronization, at speeds that defy belief, will captivate audiences of all ages, as the unrelenting mechanics of their danced chorus unfold. Beyond its thrilling virtuosity, Murmuration reflects on the harmony and tensions that bind or divide living beings. When the rigor of Olympic precision meets the sensitivity of contemporary dance, a frosted grace whirls to the sharp rhythm of blades slicing through ice.

Founded in 2005, the Montreal-based contemporary skating company has reinvented the art form. Its founder and choreographer, Alexandre Hamel, was an international competitor before breaking free from convention to revolutionise his craft. Le Patin Libre creates boundary-blurring experiences that captivate both general audiences and art enthusiasts alike. Their works Vertical Influences (2014) and Threshold (2018) brought these ice fanatics dazzlingly into the spotlight.
