Trapped in a space that rises no more than 1.5 metres off the ground, Nicolas Fayol dances humanity in its purest form, bound by the rule that he must never stand upright. This staggering performance shows how one might gain height while staying close to the floor.
What is a man when he can no longer stand? Hemmed in by his surroundings, homo erectus reinvents his physicality through a series of twisting, shifting motions. A surprising dialogue sprouts between hands and feet, brought together by the forced proximity of all four points of support. Bathed in a halo of light, this folded figure moves with suppleness and harmony, carried along by a live soundscape. Both acrobatic and tender, borrowing as much from yoga as from hip-hop, this performance by a reformed biped redefines the human condition through the emergence of entirely new postures. Gathered around his cave, the audience travels through ancient time, guided by the metamorphoses of a body becoming by turns animal, child, stone, prehistoric man.
Let the enchantment linger as you drift into Mont Analogue’s lush world of sound and image. Surrender your footing and feel your spirit float upward.
In collaboration with l'Usine à Gaz

Mont Analogue is a duo formed by Alexander Van Pelt and Ben Lupus in 2011, alongside their activities within the indie rock collective ComingSoon.
Three EPs and two albums have taken the group from DIY electro-pop with a few guitar pedals and a sampler to a unique, synthetic sound in search of transcendence: an intimate proto-techno that draws its inspiration from the great psychedelic flights of its elders, science fiction film soundtracks, and all types of ethnographic field recordings.

He grew up in the countryside, far from the usual hotbeds of hip-hop culture. Trained in academic dance at the Rick Odums school, he began his career as a performer at the age of 20, working notably with Bruno Geslin, Montalvo-Hervieu, Christian Rizzo, and Vania Vaneau. At the same time, he competed in international battles and won Juste Debout in 2009 in the experimental category. Invited by Lilas Nagoya, he co-founded the Hinterland collective with Laura Fanouillet in 2016, creating Bye-Bye Myself (2017), OHHO (2021), and Tones & Bones (2022). For Faire fleurir (2023), he is joined by the composer duo Mont Analogue.
