In this timeless performance, the grace and playful spark of old age sweep aside our preconceived ideas. After leading workshops in the La Vendée and Les Mouilles retirement homes in Lancy, the acclaimed Geneva-based choreographer brings a group of seniors to the stage.

To pause time, just for the duration of a meaningful movement; to let memory rise to the surface; to listen to bodies shaped by a long life: this is what this exquisitely sensitive piece offers. With her trademark glamour, Marie-Caroline Hominal invites us to perceive, in a movement, a tremor, a quiver, a simple gesture, or a smile, the full subtlety, mischief, and expressive richness of the elderly performers who embody this scenic poem. This original choreographic approach raises a vital question: the place of our elders in society. Come and see differently and listen to what these bodies still have to say, softly yet powerfully.

A leading figure of the French-speaking Swiss dance scene, the Franco-Swiss choreographer and dancer is based in Geneva. Hominal trained at the Schweizerische Ballettberufsschule in Zurich, then at the Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance in London, where she joined the National Youth Dance Company. From 1998 onwards, she danced with various companies. In 2002, she began creating her own work and has since developed a prolific body of pieces with her company, MadMoiselle MCH, sometimes collaborating with other artists. Her baroque, tragi-comic imagination builds eccentric microcosms where festivity and melancholy walk hand in hand.
