The chic anti-folk hero of indie, the effortless classy New York crooner Adam Green illuminates the lo-fi scene.
A nonchalant dandy from the backstreets of New York, Adam Green personifies the cool, lo-fi spirit of American anti-folk. First known as a member of The Moldy Peaches, his solo work delivers songs that oscillate between retro melody and urban dreamscape. Ironic and melancholic, elegant and off-kilter, Adam Green exists in a space somewhere between casual refinement and raw indie grit.
An icon of the New York anti-folk scene, Adam Green first emerged with The Moldy Peaches, whose track Anyone Else But You became a standout on the Juno soundtrack in 2007. The creator of poetic musical work such as Jessica and Emily and cult albums such as Gemstones in 2005, Green weaves a hybrid universe through songwriting, painting, and film. A rebellious creator, Adam Green continues to push the boundaries between art and pop with unabashed freedom and inventiveness.
