Get to know more about antigel

antigel festival

Every winter since 2011, Antigel Festival is transforming Geneva and its surrounding area into a stage for extraordinary cultural and artistic explorations.

A true laboratory of cultural innovation, it holds a mirror to our times by showcasing established and emerging artists, by revealing unusual locations temporarily transformed for an evening or a day, and by highlighting the diversity and the key issues of the Canton of Geneva in all their facets.

Antigel is far more than just a festival: it is several weeks of artistic, sporting and community-driven experiences. It is a societal project, breaking down cultural and geographical barriers, and a unifier of audiences from all walks of life, ages, and backgrounds.

True to its creative mission, Antigel sets itself apart through its originality, its innovation, and its commitment to forging new paths within the local cultural landscape.

Unique in its kind, the Antigel Festival embodies a spirit that both inspires and unites. For Antigel, culture is, at its heart, a lever for societal change.

Its mission is to champion vocational training through artistic projects, realised with the participation of apprentices from various professional fields in the Canton of Geneva, and in close collaboration with their teachers and training companies.

The flagship initiative is the Transforme Festival, a hip-hop festival organised during term time at one of Geneva’s principal vocational training sites: the Centre de formation professionnelle (CFP) in Ternier, Lancy.

OUR VENUES

Since its creation, Antigel has made it its mission to celebrate the unique and contrasting values of the area’s diversity. This is achieved through new artistic proposals that invite audiences to venture ever further, off the beaten track, into new realms of the imagination.

Geneva is a collection of identities, where each piece contributes a strength that gives the Festival its meaning and its raison d’être. This energy serves to reinforce and celebrate the diversity of its locales.

Between city and countryside, between the historic centre and the periphery, in this ever-changing city, Antigel seeks to create a dynamic of artistic migration. It encourages audiences to venture often far from the main central thoroughfares, ready to leave the beaten path to discover new artistic proposals.
